Royal Arctic Line has appointed two new directors to two important positions.

Chief Operations Officer
Aputsiaq Lynge will be employed as of June 1, 2024. His responsibilities include managing the overall supply chain, ensuring that the company meets both concessional and commercial service requirements. He will lead a team of approximately 300 employees and will have organizational responsibility for the operational activities and functions at the head office and ports. Aputsiaq’s focus will be on quality and safety, ensuring employee training and development, and promoting a good working environment and high employee satisfaction.
Aputsiaq Lynge comes from a position as Ground Operations Manager at Air Greenland and holds a degree in HRM.
Aputsiaq Lynge replaces Ivalu Kleist, who after 25 years with Royal Arctic Line has decided to seek new challenges.
Chief Commercial Officer
John Aage Nielsen has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer as of April 1, 2024. John Aage Nielsen joined Royal Arctic Line in 2020 as Key Account Manager and later Account Manager in 2021. This is therefore an internal recruitment based on the company’s talent development program.
John Aage Nielsen’s area of responsibility includes the company’s commercial and customer-related activities, including strengthening the dialog with the company’s customers. Commercially, the focus will be on earning opportunities outside the concession, with a view to optimal utilization of the company’s capacity apparatus.
John Aage Nielsen is originally trained in the police force and is currently completing a management program with a focus on Sales and Strategic Management.
John Aage Nielsen replaces CEO Niels Clemensen, who held the position of CCO from 2021-2023 until he became acting CEO.
Royal Arctic Line’s other management team consists of CEO Niels Clemensen, DCEO Aviâja Lyberth Lennert, CFO Jørgen Aqe Møller, CHRO Bebiane Boye Hansen, Head of Fleet Management Anders Bay Larsen, IT Director Gustav Fischer.
