On Monday, October 13, 2025, an extraordinary general meeting was held at Royal Arctic Line, where Naalakkersuisut expressed its gratitude to Pâviâraq Heilmann for his three years of service as Chairman of the shipping company’s Board of Directors.
Naalakkersuisut has appointed Inooraq Brandt, former Vice Chairman of Royal Arctic Line’s Board, as the new Chairman.
In his address to the extraordinary general meeting, the new Chairman stated, among other things:
We are facing significant strategic investments – in our fleet, in our land-based facilities, in our cargo handling systems, and in our many skilled and dedicated employees. All of this is to ensure that we continue to meet our customers’ needs and maintain an efficient supply chain that supports the continued development of our society. In a market characterized by reduced cargo volumes and an increased focus on sustainable development based on people and nature, this is no small challenge.
Royal Arctic Line’s new Chairman of the Board highlighted three areas as important to the company’s continued success:
- Credibility and transparency in our decisions and communication.
- Collaboration and dialogue – within the organization, with the owner, and with the citizens and customers we exist to serve.
- Sustainable development, where economy, environment, and society go hand in hand.
At the same time, Naalakkersuisut welcomed a new board member, Tommy Ege Kristensen, former HR Director at Royal Arctic Line.
The Board of Directors of Royal Arctic Line now consists of six members appointed by Naalakkersuisut: Inooraq Brandt, Barbara Agersnap, Flemming Drechsel, Jóhanna á Bergi, Minannguaq Zeeb, and Tommy Egede Kristensen – as well as three employee-elected members: Eydun Simonsen, Laust Vestergaard, and Tina Lange Olsen.
