Royal Arctic Line has just published its CSR report for 2020. The CSR report can be found on the company’s website.
In 2020, Royal Arctic Line focused on creating the foundation for measuring the company’s impact on climate, environment and society. It requires an administrative apparatus and prioritization of the task to be able to do this, so resources have now been deployed to support our ability to select which of our initiatives provide the greatest possible value for climate, environment and society, and not least to measure whether it is going in the right direction.
We will take this work into 2021, where we will also initiate the foundation for a true and fair climate report. Presenting a true and fair climate report requires dedicated resources, correct collection and reporting of data, and collaboration with other actors in society. We have actively utilized this collaboration in 2020 and will continue to do so going forward.
In Royal Arctic Line, we look forward to Naalakkersuisut, based on the new coalition agreement, setting concrete goals for Greenland’s active efforts for the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. A common societal effort for increased sustainability will be strengthened by a common direction.
We are a Greenlandic company and it is our duty and responsibility to actively participate in the sustainable development of the entire Greenlandic society. We are committed to educating and developing the Greenlandic workforce. We actively seek solutions that reduce our impact on the climate and environment based on long-term planning, and we continue to support local activities through our ports. In our efforts to create the best conditions for trade with all of Greenland, we also want to contribute positively to the development of a sustainable Greenland.
