Royal Arctic Line now has a more dynamic route system and new opportunities arise to create new connections to and from Greenland.

Therefore, management efforts are now focused on meeting the need for increased commercial presence in more open and international markets while identifying new business opportunities. At the same time, the position of Group HR Manager will be filled to ensure the further development of the company’s employees and HR processes.

Our current CCO (Chief Commercial Officer), Lars Borris Pedersen, wants to seek new challenges outside Royal Arctic Line. Lars has with his leadership of customer service, booking office, freight forwarding, Key Account Management and sales led the company well through the changes that the company has implemented, especially in the last 6 years. There are probably not many who do not know Lars and we thank Lars for his many years of work in Royal Arctic Line, and wish him the best in his future career.

As a result, the management of areas in the commercial and customer-facing part of the organization will change.

With the increased internationalization and business development, Royal Arctic Line is bringing familiar forces back into the organization. As of August 1, 2021, Niels Clemensen will join as new CCO and Vice President. Niels comes from a position as Director at the Port of Hanstholm, a position he joined from Royal Arctic Line in 2016. Niels has previously held the CCO role in Royal Arctic Line, and has been involved in shaping the co-sailing strategy back in 2015/2016. Niels has therefore been involved from the very beginning of this journey and has the international experience combined with Greenlandic knowledge to drive us towards the next opportunities. Niels says in connection with his appointment: “My wife and I look forward to returning home to Nuuk and some exciting challenges and tasks in Royal Arctic Line, which I personally look forward to solving together with the rest of the Royal Arctic Line team”.

On the HR side, we are also pleased to announce that Royal Arctic Line’s new Group HR Manager / CHRO will start her position with us on August 1, 2021. The position, which is part of the senior management team, is filled by Bebiane Boye Hansen. Bebiane will come to us from Nukissiorfiit and, in addition to a great system knowledge of the HR area, she brings good experience from another important utility company with employees throughout Greenland. Bebiane will contribute significantly to the continued journey towards the formalization of HR as a business process, including of course data-driven HR and the opportunities created for career and development for all employees in the company. Bebiane states: “I look forward to helping to make it easier to do business with Greenland and to meet all employees. I look forward to continuing the development of HR tools based on the last 5 years of work on data-driven HR to ensure the greatest possible impact of our HR efforts on the coast, at the head office in Greenland and for our employees in Denmark” .
