The Board of Directors of Royal Arctic Line has appointed Jørgen Aqe Møller to replace Peter Christoffersen in connection with his planned termination.

Jørgen Aqe Møller comes from a position as Head of Risk and Process Management in Royal Arctic Line’s finance department where he joined in 2017. Jørgen holds a degree in Civil Engineering from DTU and has subsequently supplemented his education with an HD in Accounting and Financial Management and an HD in Finance from CBS. Jørgen has experience as a software developer, consultant in the financial sector in Denmark and as an economist in the Ministry of Finance in the Government of Greenland.

Chairman of the Board Ulrik Blidorf states on behalf of a unanimous board that “The Board of Directors has appointed Jørgen Aqe Møller as a very suitable CFO candidate from the company’s own ranks. With his professional background, Jørgen is highly competent to be part of the management team that will lead the company into the realization of the new strategy. The Board is very pleased that Jørgen has accepted and wanted to take on the responsibility as CFO/CFO”.

“It is a great pleasure for us at Royal Arctic Line that we have a talent pool that can step in when it counts,” says CEO Verner Hammeken, who continues: “Jørgen strengthens our management team in the competencies that are so important to us: Strong long-term risk management, a formidable view on streamlining processes combined with a solid knowledge of our society and our vital work. We have to admit that even though we followed a process of external search via a reputable agency, the process did not succeed in bringing out our internal candidates, but we finally succeeded when we were suddenly in a situation where we had to start from scratch”.

Jørgen Aqe Møller says in connection with the appointment: “I look forward to contributing, together with the rest of the management team, to increasing the social value of the important changes that Royal Arctic Line has made in recent years. It will be exciting to contribute to continuously optimizing and streamlining the use of the established infrastructure for the benefit of our end customers, the Greenlandic population”.
