Royal Arctic Line A/S

Royal Arctic Line is owned by the Government of Greenland and has been granted an exclusive concession to transport goods to, from and between towns and settlements in Greenland. The company has approx. 735 employees at 13 terminals in Greenland, the head office in Nuuk, and offices in Aalborg and Aarhus. The fleet consists of 10 vessels.

Corporate social responsibility

Royal Arctic Line connects Greenland with the outside world and ensures vital infrastructure. The company is owned by the Government of Greenland and thus the Greenlandic people. We take responsibility for our surrounding nature and the people who live in it.

We have approximately 735 employees, of which approximately 10% are students and interns. As a large workplace in Greenland, we have a special obligation to contribute to the development of the country’s population, strengthening skills and community across the country.

Our right and obligation to service all communities in Greenland means that we connect parts of the country and secure Greenland a place in international trade.

Through responsible management, we optimize our business for the benefit of Greenland. We operate transparently in accordance with applicable legislation, ethical frameworks and in close dialog with our customers and our owner.

Supporting local communities – sponsorships

Every year, sponsorship funds are allocated to activities for children and young people, culture and sports, as well as for the less fortunate and education. A Sponsorship Committee has been set up, made up of employees from different departments. Together, they regularly consider the applications received. The Sponsorship Committee meets once a month, with the exception of July.
