Niels Clemensen is the new CEO of Royal Arctic Line A/S

Following a formal recruitment process, the Board of Directors of Royal Arctic Line A/S has appointed Niels Clemensen as CEO of the company. Niels Clemensen will formally take up the position on March 1, 2024.

Following a formal recruitment process, the Board of Directors of Royal Arctic Line A/S has appointed Niels Clemensen as CEO of the company. Niels Clemensen will formally take up the position on March 1, 2024.

Chairman of the board of the company Pâviâraq Heilmann says about the appointment:

“The board has been committed to conducting a professional and efficient recruitment process to find the right CEO for the company. Royal Arctic Line A/S manages critical infrastructure and is therefore of great importance to all of Greenland, both in terms of importing goods, but especially in terms of exporting the country’s raw materials.

The recruitment process has been done in collaboration with an external recruitment agency, and in the assessment of the candidates, the board is convinced that Niels Clemensen is the right person for the job.

Business career
Niels Clemensen first joined Royal Arctic Line on January 1, 1993, the day the company was founded, and he has a long career in shipping behind him.

Replaces Verner Hammeken
Niels Clemensen replaces Verner Hammeken as CEO. Verner Hammeken held the position from 2015 until 2023, when the collaboration with the company ended. With the end of the collaboration, Niels Clemensen was appointed acting CEO until a new CEO was appointed.
