Tukuma Arctica will be the last ship on the Red Line to sail out of Aalborg on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. The change in Royal Arctic Line’s sailing pattern means that the shipping company will only call at one port in Denmark, Aarhus.
Royal Arctic Line announced in 2017 that the shipping company will move its port of call to Aarhus in the future to ensure better connections to the rest of the world’s logistics network. As a shipping company serving the Greenlandic community, it is our duty to develop and future-proof Greenland’s ability to trade effectively with the rest of the world. More and better connected ports of call gives our customers more opportunities to trade and allows traders to take advantage of a wider range of operators.
Royal Arctic Line has called at the port of Aalborg since 1972. So it’s about 50 years of really good cooperation that is now coming to an end. Royal Arctic Line and Port of Aalborg have been preparing for the expiration of the base port agreement, and the dialog has been characterized by many years of good cooperation, which both parties now want to end in a good and constructive way.
Information about future pickup and delivery locations is expected to be announced by the end of March.
