Over the past 8 years, Verner Hammeken has led a significant transformation of the government-owned shipping company. This period has seen a significant fleet renewal, the organization and operations are essentially gathered in Nuuk, a new port in Nuuk has been taken into use, co-sailing with Eimskip has been established, activities in Denmark are concentrated in Aarhus and there have been significant renewals of both systems and organization.
There is now a need for new management competencies to get the daily operations thoroughly anchored in all parts of the organization and the Board of Directors has therefore entered into an agreement with Verner Hammeken that he will resign as CEO of Royal Arctic Line while a process to find Royal Arctic Line’s new CEO is initiated. In the interim period, Royal Arctic Line’s CCO Niels Clemensen will act as CEO. Verner Hammeken will be available to the company in a transitional period.
The Board thanks Verner Hammeken for his significant efforts and transformation during his 8 years at the helm of Royal Arctic Line.
